Hairwork Commission Starter Form

Welcome! Thinking about having some hairwork jewelry made? There a many options. Read below and fill out the form to make an inquiry and start a commission.

Hair jewelry can be made from Karen’s available stock: light, dark, grey(ing) or by hair provided to her by an individual requesting a commission.

Here are some basic points to consider to get started.

Sending Human Hair

• For table worked pieces: hair must be at least 12 inches or longer.
• Hair stored away for years or your own hair can be woven. So can Chemically treated or colored hair. 
• Clean hair before sending, must be free of oil, conditioners, etc   
• Send hair in a bubble wrap envelope

Amount needed:

• Most braid patterns require the diameter a little bigger than a typical pencil eraser. (More may be needed depending on what is being made.)
• Place hair in a zip lock bag and label with contact information (name/address/phone/e-mail)
• If you are sending more then one person’s hair, place each in separate bags with full contact information

Mailing

• Orders take approximately two-three months to complete once the hair is received (depending upon the complexity of the piece)
• Upon completion of the commission, I will send an email along with a photograph.  All unused hair is returned and completed item is carefully packaged, insured and mailed
• Tracking number is sent along with an ETD (estimated time of delivery)
